Posted under General by TDI Guru on Monday 25 October 2010 at 9:16 pm

Honda is well known for their reliable and functional cars and it has another winner with the 2010 Accord Crosstour. This is a crossover vehicle that is a mixture of a sedan and wagon. The exterior styling is definitely unique and distinct with sleek aerodynamic styling. This auto is available in two trims; EX and EX-L. The EX-L version comes with a set of sweet 18” alloy wheels.

Let’s take a look underneath at the engine which powers this car; it’s a V6 3.5 Ltr with 271 hp and 254 lb feet of torque. This vehicle travels from 0-60 in just 7.5 seconds and reaches the quarter mile in 15.5 seconds. Gas mileage stands at around 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The ride quality is smooth, merging is a cinch due to the horsepower, plus the cabin remains quiet even at high speeds.

The interior was designed to be comfortable, luxurious and well insulated against exterior noise. Five individuals can be comfortably seated with ample of leg room. Sweet amenities include a moon roof, power front seats, a 6-disc CD changer and a dual zone climate control system which enable the driver and front passenger to adjust their own temperatures. The more upscale EX-L model offers additional features such as a steering wheel appointed in leather, heatable seats and compatibility devices. An optional navigation system can be added at an additional cost which includes voice recognition and has the ability to provide restaurant ratings. The Crosstour’s cargo is 25.7 cubic ft which can be expanded to 51.3 cubic feet if the back seats are folded down. A really cool and handy feature is the hidden and removable utility box right under the cargo floor, which can be used to store additional items.

As you would expect from Honda, safety was emphasized thoroughly. The Vehicle Stability Assist system automatically adjusts brake pressure in order to gain control during oversteering or understeering situations. An Anti Lock Brake System works to maintain control during sudden braking plus a Tire Pressure Monitoring system alerts you when your tire pressure needs to be adjusted. In addition, the vehicle utilizes Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure which works to distribute impact force over a larger area during impact. There are also front, side and curtain airbags in place along with active head restraints.

The 2010 Crosstour offers distinct styling, a luxurious cabin and smart storage solutions via its hidden compartment. It’s targeted mainly towards empty nesters who may need extra room to haul golf clubs around but the fact of the matter is that this auto is suitable for anyone who needs a vehicle with extra space but doesn’t want to drive a SUV. The Crosstour offers the versatility of a sedan and wagon in one package. Pricing starts at around $29,670 which is towards the upper scale price wise for an Accord, but in return the Crosstour offers sweet amenities and the convenience of a sedan and wagon in one.
