If you are looking for advice because you are thinking of buying a brand new car then you might be wondering where you can go. The fact that there is so much choice on offer these days in terms of new cars means that it can be difficult to decide which one is going to be the right choice. Unfortunately this can be a very subjective thing and there is no right choice for everyone; you will have your own unique desires and requirements. But when it comes to buying new cars the following ideas might help you to decide where to go for advice because after all knowledge is power.

- There are actually a number of magazines which deal solely in car reviews and you can have a look at these. These can provide insightful information about the latest vehicles. The fact that the reviews in these magazines are both useful and unbiased is probably the main reason why they are still so popular. If you are thinking of purchasing a brand new car then these magazines can be a great resource.

- The internet provides plenty of information and all of this is free. However the main problem with the internet is the fact that there really is a lot of information on there which is not accurate or very biased. Keeping a healthy level of cynicism when looking for information about new cars on the internet is important as is only dealing with reputable websites.

- One of the best places to look for information is the online car forums. This allows you the opportunity to interact with other new car buyers. Some of these people may have already bought the vehicle you are considering and so will be in an ideal position to advise you. When you are talking about new cars with people on these forums, it is a good idea to bear in mind that they could well have been paid to say good things about cars by the manufacturer of the car.

Technological advancement waits for no man and some of the advances of today are absolutely astounding. And the car industry is testament to that. Take all things to do with the electric car. With far reaching advances in electric vehiclesfor example like asx crossover naming just a few.

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong will be the first individual in the United States to get his hands on the Nissan Leaf on September 3 of 2010, which is three months before it will be released for sale in December. This should not be a huge surprise considering the fact that Nissan is a major sponsor of Armstrong in the Tour de France. Armstrong has appeared in numerous commercials promoting the Leaf. This car is a big deal because it will be first the ever electric vehicle that will be mass produced for sale in the United States; this is history in the making.

The Leaf is a curvaceous and sleek looking hatchback with five doors. Obviously the Leaf won’t have a fuel door or exhaust pipe since its electric and it will be available in five colors; blue, red, silver, white and black. This futuristic car will sport 16” alloy wheels, an aerodynamic under body and a cool looking spoiler. What really stands out with this car is its cool headlights incorporating a blue design which actually divert airflow away from the doors in order to ensure a more comfortable ride. On top of that, these lights actually consume fifty percent less electricity than a regular lamp, which is very appropriate when you consider the car’s eco-conscious theme. Two trim levels will be available for the Leaf : SV and SL.

What’s unique about this car is that the Leaf is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack which outputs 107 HP. It will take around four to eight hours to charge the Leaf but a commercial charging station can get it done in around thirty minutes or so. This electric car will be able to reach speeds of up to ninety miles an hour and will be able to travel around one hundred miles before it needs to be re-charged. A LCD screen is in place which specifies how much power you have left and the locations of nearby charging stations.

There is an incentive to purchase the Nissan Leaf in the form of tax credits. After a credit of $7,500, the base price will drop to around $25k from the standard $32,780 price tag. It will cost around $2,000 to have a special charging station installed in your home which will be able to charge the car in thirty minutes but some states offer tax incentives which almost recoup this expense. This vehicle is surprisingly pretty affordable after the tax credit.

You would expect such a futuristic car incorporate all sorts of technological advanced gadgets and this car defintely got the goods! A navigation system comes standard with the car and an advanced feature lets you actually control the temperature of your car before you get in, just perfect for those cold winter days or blistering hot summers. The audio system offers satellite radio, 6 speakers and is compatible with most portable music players. Safety mechanisms include airbags, an ABS system, traction control, front and rear stabilizer bars, a tire pressure monitoring system and a vehicle security system.

The Nissan Leaf is truly a revolutionary car because this will be the very first time in history that an electric car will be available to the public on such a grand scale. This is the ideal car if you want to go green and want to experience the latest automotive technology. Lance Armstrong will get his Leaf in September but the rest of us will be able to experience this car for ourselves just in time for Christmas. With the tax credits applied, this car is priced just right. If you are looking to go green then check out the Leaf at a Nissan dealer near you this December!

Electric cars have been mentioned in the media quite often. Electric vehicles are a great alternative to vehicles which use fuel and oil and are much more friendlier towards the environment. There has been quite a buzz about electric vehicles for quite some time now and before it seemed to be the makings of science fiction or fantasy. This is all changing quite rapidly and different manufacturers are developing huge numbers of electric cars. Electric cars have been mentioned in the media quite often..

How Do You Drive a Electric Car?

There is no need for oil or diesel because an electric car is powered by an electric motor. The car uses a rechargeable battery which powers the electric motor. Many electric cars look identical to normal cars on the outside it is only underneath the hood where the differences can be seen. An electric car requires charging. This is done using a charger that has been specially built so as to not damage the car’s electric cells. Charging the vehicle normally takes a few hours. The time it takes to charge a car is reducing all the time and the distance you can go is increasing. It normally takes about five hours to charge a battery because it usually recharges around 20 percent every hour.

These vehicles are likely to become a lot more popular over the next few years. Hopefully as this happens it will lead to them becoming more affordable. The idea of one day not having to go to a gas station to fill up the tank is very appealing thought to many of us.

Technological advances today are often astounding. And the car industry is testament to that. Great innovations in electric vehicles like Mitsubishi asx are only a very small number of the many advances in this industry.

The only issue with electric cars is making sure that they are completely charged in case you get stuck in the middle of nowhere and are many miles away from the nearest charge station. It also takes quite a significant time to recharge the batteries, which is why JFE Engineering of Japan has come up with a quick battery charger that takes a mere 3 minutes to charge a car battery to 50% of its capacity, while waiting around for another 2 minutes will hit a 70% charge. JFE conducted tests with the device, seeing Mitsubishi’s electric car i-MiEV go as far as 80km continuously after a 5-minute charge. JFE hopes to see its charger arrive at gas stations and convenience stores throughout Japan before March 2011 is over.

JFE’s charger is a technological advance that will make it a lot easier for consumers to drive and re-charge their batteries and hopefully this will lead to the increase of mass use of electric vehicles across the world.

As the costs of fuel to drive our cars is more and more on the increase and as people are becoming more concerned about environmental issues, the electric vehicle presents a viable alternative that seems to becoming more popular these days. Build your own electric vehicle and this gives a push towards a more environmentally conscious society and has many benefits. Reviews of best electric vehicles are always showing up in the media. They produce less harm in the environment not like the gas powered vehicles, especially in big areas. Transportation powered by an electric motor gives off less pollution than gas engine cars. From the outside look, it seems to be a normal ride rather than an electric vehicle because it looks identical. On the inside, however, there are a lot of differences between gas and electric powered cars.

The gas engine is replaced by electric car motors which get its power from a controller. The controller then gets power from an array of rechargeable batteries which can be charged from home or at special street stations outside. An electric car is a basic wiring project but a gas engine is complicated with its fuel line, exhaust pipes and coolant hoses which tend to make it look more like a grand plumbing project. The motor acts like a duct wherein the energy stored in batteries travel towards the controller. The accelerator pedal then hooks on to a pair of variable resistors and these resistors then provide the signal which tells the controller how much it is supposed to deliver.

Build Your Own Electric Vehicle:

First of all to build one you will need a regular car. Go for a more compact type and smaller one which will need less energy to use. The gas tank, exhaust, muffler, engine, starter, radiator, coolant tank, fuel lines and filter are all gas related so they will have to be removed. However, do not take apart anything out of the transmission as you will need it. Attach the motor to the transmission to power the car via manual power then install the motor. Once that is all done you will need to figure out what electric car batteries you will need which depend on the battery system. Get a controller which can control and balance the power between power and batteries. The controller you get should run at least 48-72 volts. Lastly, start up the gas pedal cable through the variable resistors which will convey the signal towards the controller after which, secure the car and you are ready to go. Your very own environmentally friendly, cheaper to run, clean mode of transport is ready to roll!

You may be asking yourself if now is the best time to be buying a brand new car if you are considering this type of purchase. A lot of people will be very wary of actually committing to such a big investment especially because of how the economy has fared over the last number of years. This is all understandable but if you have the money to make the purchase you will probably find that now is a great time for buying new cars.

Why It Is Not The Best Time To Buy A Used Car.

It might not be the best time to buy a used car especially if you want to find a good deal. The last few years has seen a drop off in the amount of new cars being bought and this has had a knock on effect of reducing the number of people selling their old cars. Because of the supply and demand rule, there has been an increase in the price of used cars because now demand is higher than supply when it comes to used cars. A few years ago you could get some great deals on ‘almost new’ second hand vehicles but not anymore.

Why This Is A Good Time To Buy New Cars.

Because of the drop in the number of people buying brand new cars, dealers are beginning to get a bit desperate. The fact that these dealers need to make a sale means that it is a buyer’s market. Going in and haggling hard will ensure that you have every chance of picking up a brand new motor at a fantastic price. And you will probably come across a number of promotions at the moment especially if you look around. If you are savvy about it you could get a really good deal on a new motor.

But be prepared for the market to change again over the next few years as demand will surely rise again for brand new cars. That all means that now is probably the best time for you to buy a brand new car.

Technological advancement waits for no man and some of the advances of today are absolutely astounding. And the car industry is testament to that. Take all things to do with the electric car.

When you buy a brand new car it is understandable that you will feel both proud and excited for many weeks after making your purchase. But you may end up feeling quite flat and deflated after the initial excitement begins to wear off. If you have not chosen well then this deflated feeling can quickly progress to the dreaded buyer’s remorse; realising that you just spent a fortune on a car that doesn’t live up to your expectations.

Buyer’s remorse can be avoided if you just take your time to think and don’t rush into any purchases. Don’t make any rash decisions when the time comes to buying a car; remember that a car purchase is a big investment and one which you need to take your time on. If this is something you plan to be driving for the next decade or so then you will need to make sure that it is going to meet your requirements. You will have most of the information that you need already in your head and the rest you can find on the internet when you need to do some investigations. Here are some of the types of questions you should be asking yourself when you do find a car you fancy.

· Will I be able to afford the costs of keeping this car on the road?

· Is this car suitable for my requirements? (For example, you might be better off buying an MPV if you have a big family).

· Will this car be suitable for my type of driving? (For example, do you spend a lot of time driving on motorways or in the city).

· Do I like sitting behind the wheel of this car?

· Will I still want to drive this car in a few years time?

One other question that you should be asking yourself is whether or not you really think this is the best car for you or whether you would settle for any brand new car as soon as you can.

Advances in technology nowadays continue to astound. And none so more than in the automotive industry. Take all things to do with the electric car. With far reaching advances in electric vehicleslike asx to name only a very small number.

Car shoppers already know that we must reduce our reliance on gasoline for a variety of reasons. There are a lot of alternatives to the traditional gasoline engine, but thus far none of them has proven itself the clear leader. Here are the pros and cons of some of the top contenders.

Ethanol

Pros: Ethanol can be made domestically from corn, in the future might be produced from other food or waste products. E10, which is a 10% blend, can be burned in any new car. Many existing cars can operate on E85.

Cons: E85 gets about 25% lower fuel economy than gasoline. E85 is not readily available, since very few gas stations carry it. The federal government offers credits to automakers for E85 cars, but meeting those standards lowers overall fuel economy for all cars. Food prices could rise as a result of mass production of any product made from food crops. Increased crop production requires the use of farm equipment, which run on gasoline.

Diesel/biodiesel

Pros: Diesel and biodiesel get 30% better fuel economy than traditional gasoline engines. Fuel is readily available. Although cars that run on diesel and biodiesel cost more than traditional gasoline cars, the cost premium is lower than it is for hybrids. Any diesel car can run on a blend of renewable biodiesel fuel.

Cons: Diesel cars have historically had more vibration and engine noise than gasoline cars. The relatively high cost of diesel fuel can reduce the financial benefits of the improved fuel economy.

Electric Cars

Pros: Cost per mile is much lower than for a traditional vehicle. Electric cars produce no emissions. Batteries can be charged at home.

Cons: Cost of cars is high dues to expensive batteries. It takes a long time to recharge and range is limited. Although electricity can be produced using renewable resources, many power companies currently use coal to produce it.

Plug-in hybrids

Pros: Plug-in hybrids can be charged at home. When they’re running on electric power, they have no emissions and have lower per mile operating costs. They have up to a 40-mile all-electric range, which is sufficient for most people most of the time. A gas engine can extend its range for lengthy trips.

Cons: The cost is higher than that of conventional vehicles due high-priced batteries. Charging car batteries could put an additional burden on existing electric grid, especially if done during the daytime. The gas mileage depends significantly on driving habits, and drivers often don’t get the mileage they expect.

Hybrids

Pros: Hybrids use gasoline, which is good because we have gas pumps throughout the United States. They drive like cars always have, so drivers don’t have to make a major change. These vehicles can get great fuel economy.

Cons: Hybrids cost more than traditional autos, requiring a large investment up front. Many drivers have been dissatisfied because their hybrids don’t get the gas mileage they hope for.

Hydrogen fuel cells

Pros: Hydrogen cars get very good fuel economy – about twice that of gasoline cars. They produce no emissions – just water vapor. Hydrogen is abundant and some of it can be made from renewable energy.

Cons: Hydrogen fuel cells are expensive and often wear out quickly. In order to get an acceptable range, you need very high-pressure hydrogen storage. Hydrogen is expensive to transport, and there is no infrastructure in place yet, so it’s difficult to find places to refuel. Although hydrogen fuel can be made from renewable energy sources, it is currently made from natural gas. The production process creates a large amount of CO2 emissions.

Natural Gas

Pros: Natural gas burns much cleaner than gasoline, costs much less, and provides comparable power.

Cons: Large amounts of natural gas are required, so cars must have huge gas tanks, which reduce space available for other uses. Refueling takes a long time due to the amount of fuel required. Natural gas cars have a limited range. There are very few refueling stations available.

Most of these alternative vehicles involve additional costs upfront, which is only viable if the consumer can reasonably expect to get back the cost over the life of the vehicle. So far in the U.S., hybrids are in the lead, with electric cars gaining popularity. Diesel cars have been practical in other countries for a long time. Only time will tell which technologies are practical and cost effective.

Although fuel prices weren’t as high as it was before a couple of years ago, you have to consider that with the looming global financial crisis, the low gasoline prices will really not last that long. This is why more and more people are looking for an alternative when it comes to saving money on fuel. This is also why more and more people are going green.

When it comes to personal transportation or Vehicles, increasing numbers of people are now considering selling their old gasoline engine vehicle and buy a purely Electric powered vehicle that they can drive from home to school, work, or shopping centers.

Basically, there are two ways to own an Battery Powered Vehicle. You can try converting your gasoline powered Car in to an Electric Car or you can just buy an Electric Automobile.

You need to understand that Battery Electric Automobiles use Battery Electric motors instead of an internal combustion engine. To power the Electric motor, the Automobile will also be equipped with batteries. These batteries are state of the art and today, you will find that Battery Powered Cars have batteries that are lighter, smaller and have larger capacity when it comes to storing electricity. In addition to that, these batteries can be charged rather quickly.

In fact, some Electric Cars today are equipped with state of the art batteries that it can be fully charged while you eat lunch during a long trip. Most Battery Electric Automobiles today can be charged with a simple home outlet, which is very convenient for everyone.

After a day at the office, you can simply charge your Vehicle in your garage using your conventional Electric outlet to connect your Car to a power source to recharge and get it ready for another day of commute.

The great thing about Electric Cars today is that it is built to be lighter. Because the batteries as well as the body of the Car itself are lighter than its predecessors, efficiency is maximized.

You need to understand that Electric Cars are not entirely a new concept. In fact, some of the first Vehicles were Battery Electric. However, the batteries back in those days were not really very effective in storing electricity. And, you need to charge it for many hours before you can use the Car again.

Electric Automobiles run purely on electricity. Although there are hybrid Electric Cars that run on both electricity and gasoline, you will find that more and more companies are not developing Vehicles that run purely on electricity. Battery Electric Vehicles may be more expensive than conventional Cars when you buy it off the showroom. However, when you think about the savings that you will get with Electric Automobiles, you will find that it will be worth every penny owning one.

Aside from the fuel savings that you will enjoy with Electric Vehicles, you will also enjoy tax breaks or tax incentives offered by the federal government for people who owns and drive Battery Powered Cars. Some states even offer exemption from Automobile pool lane rules for people driving Electric Vehicles.

Electric Cars will not just enable you to save a lot of money on tax breaks and fuel, but you will also find that you will also be able to contribute to the environment by having a Car that does not emit pollution and contribute to global warming. These are the advantages of Electric Vehicles.

So, the next time you are ever in the market for Cars, you may want to consider buying an Electric Car.

Even though the fuel prices recently went down and we are currently enjoying low fuel prices, you have to face reality that this will not really last that long. It is inevitable that the fuel prices will start to increase again soon and you should expect that the prices for other commodities will also rise.

And, in the current state that the economy is in today, you will want to save as much money as you possibly can. Besides, with the number of companies closing down and the number of mass layoffs going on, you really can’t tell whether you are secured in your job or not.

If you really want to save money, then you may want to try selling your old gasoline powered Car and start looking for a cheaper alternative.

Today, more and more people are relying on public or mass transportation in order to save money gasoline. However, you may be glad to know that it is possible for you to own a Car without even spending a single cent on gasoline.

Through Electric Cars, you will be able to save a lot of money on gasoline and at the same time, still have a personal vehicle that you will be able to drive anywhere and anytime.

Automobiles do add to our convenience. Without it, life would be a lot harder. If you sell your gasoline powered Automobile, you are not really giving up on this convenience but what you are actually doing is invest the money you get in Electric Cars.

It is a fact that Electric Cars do cost more compared to conventional Automobiles. However, if you take a look at it in the long run, you will find that Electric Cars are a lot cheaper. Why?

For starters, you don’t have to buy gasoline in order to make the Car run ever again. Electric Cars run purely on electricity. Instead of an internal combustion engine, Battery Electric Vehicles have Electric motors that are connected to a power source, which is a series of batteries.

You need to understand that the concept of Battery Electric Vehicles have existed ever since the first Vehicle was invented. The only problem was that the technology back then wasn’t as advanced as the one we already have today, particularly battery cell technology.

Batteries installed in Electric Cars today are more powerful, smaller, lighter in weight, and is also faster to charge. Basically, the distance was the flaw of Battery Powered Cars in the past. However, thanks to modern technology, this flaw is now considered to be a thing of the past. With electronic Cars today, you will now be able to travel across the states without worrying about charging the batteries.

And, a dollar’s worth of electricity will be able to take you a hundred miles or even more in Battery Electric Vehicles.

What’s more is that the government is now encouraging people to buy Battery Powered Vehicles. The federal government is now offering tax incentives to people who own and use Electric Cars.

These are just some of the big money saving advantages that you will get if you own and use Electric Automobile. As you can see, you will be able to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars in gasoline as well as in tax breaks. Electric Cars may be more expensive than conventional Vehicles but if you take a look at the benefits and advantages it offers, you will find that Battery Powered Cars will be a lot cheaper in the long run.

Brought to you by how to get a car insurance quote online.

In the past few years, you will see that there has been a significant increase on the demand for Electric Vehicles. In fact, more and more people are now considering selling their old gasoline powered Vehicle and go Battery Electric. And, there are people who are now proud owners and drivers of Electric Automobiles.

So, just what is it with Electric Cars that a lot of people are now buying one for their own and is easily replacing conventional gasoline powered Cars?

First of all, you have to consider the Battery Powered Cars are more expensive than conventional Cars. It is also slower and Battery Powered Cars are also smaller in size compared to conventional gasoline powered Cars. And, even though this is the case, a lot of people still prefer Electric Cars over gasoline powered Automobiles.

The most popular reason for this fact is that Electric Cars are a lot cheaper to drive than gasoline powered Cars. Why?

Although Electric Cars are more expensive to buy off the market, you will find that it will be a lot cheaper to own in the long run. This is basically because Electric Cars run purely on electricity. It doesn’t use gasoline, which means that you won’t have to stop by the gasoline station ever again. Just imagine how much money you will save by not purchasing gasoline in order to make your Car run?

Electric Automobiles are powered by an Battery Powered motor instead of your traditional internal combustion engine. The Battery Electric motor gets its power from the batteries installed in the Electric Vehicle. Although you do need to charge the batteries, you will see that with today’s battery cell technology, a dollar’s worth of electricity will be able to get you a hundred miles with your Electric Car before you ever need to recharge the batteries again.

So, if you use your Automobile everyday, you can easily add 30 dollars in your monthly Battery Powered bill, which is way better than spending a hundred dollars a month in gasoline. In the long run, you will see that Battery Powered Cars are far cheaper than conventional gasoline powered Cars.

You also have to keep in mind that Cars that run on electricity are not a new concept. In fact, Automobiles like this were invented ever since the first Automobile was developed. The idea was scrapped because of the available battery cell technology. Thanks to the advancement of technology, it is now possible for Cars to run on electricity through batteries and do so efficiently.

These Cars are made with lighter materials, and are significantly smaller than conventional Cars. This is a great way to get a good power to weight ratio, which will make the Vehicle go faster and also go farther than its predecessors. Although the Electric Automobiles existing today aren’t as fast or as powerful as Automobiles with internal combustion engine, it does offer what most people want today, which is big savings.

In addition to that, Electric Vehicles do not emit harmful gas, which contribute to greenhouse gas in the atmosphere and ultimately global warming. Because of the environmental concerns that people have today, Electric Cars are fast becoming popular, especially to people who are concerned about the environment.

These reasons alone are enough to give you the conclusion that Electric Cars will surely be the future of driving. It won’t be long until you see that most people will start driving Electric Vehicles.
