Open the Bonnet

Checking the Exhaust
Rev the engine and check the exhaust, make sure there are no rattles or noises coming from the exhaust. Also get someone else to rev the engine and briefly place your hand over the exhaust and make sure no black smoke comes out, as this could signal major problems.
