Nascar Now, Who Will Win The Championship?
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is more widely known as NASCAR, and what started off in 1947 by the late Bill France Senior as a tiny good old boy racing network is a multi-billion-dollar Goliath industry which ranks as the number 2 worldwide observer sport. And every week in the US and all around the globe, NASCAR fans zoom in on watch their favorite drivers compete in the more than 80 yearly contests which comprise a NASCAR season. With the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck series, many different configurations of cars and lorries now compete under the NASCAR umbrella.
It’s much too in the early part of the year to consider any of the above series as settled, but currently Greg Biffle leads the Sprint Cup Series in points with Kevin Harvick close behind, both are getting good Vegas Odds for making the chase. In the National Series, Elliott Sadler has a healthy early lead over Ricky Stenhouse Jr. And in the Camping World Truck Series, John King, Timothy Peters, Justin Lofton and Jason White are all in it after one race. And while the National Series does see some drivers from the Sprint Cup Series running races, the Sprint Cup is the big draw in NASCAR, and far away the most well-liked.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Is one name that even non-racing fans understand, since he got his name from his mythical pa who drove the number 3 automobile to the NASCAR Hall-Of-Fame. And popular drivers like Michael Waltrip and Tony Stewart have made such a good living running the oval that they own their own race groups.
NASCAR fans are a selection of the more fervent advocates of their fave sportsmen, and they frequently mirror the famous battles fought between their favorite driving counterparts. For example, you will never hear a Dale Earnhardt Sr. Fan complement Jeff Gordon, regardless of the incontrovertible fact that he has over 10 wins more than the late Hall-Of-Fame racer, and is still a real threat to win each week.
In this early 2012 season, the first four races of the year in the Sprint Cup have covered four different tracks, and we've seen 4 different winners. And we have seen many drivers switch out their crew chiefs, and some even jump ship to a racing team that was previously considered an enemy. Drivers running good early on have to be considered tops if they competed well at all these four completely different places, and a short list of those successful drivers so far include the already mentioned Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano and Paul Menard, respectively numbers one thru ten in the Sprint Cup points race so far. But you can never count out accomplished drivers like Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson, or children Kasey Kahne and Brad Keselowski. We are just starting, but this year’s NASCAR offerings have already seen a large amount of drama and lots of wrecked cars, and guarantee to supply excitement all year long.
