commercial construction An early start is a must if you are going to avoid getting caught up in the local works traffic and the red lights at the level crossings on route.

On the first day of Goodwood the drivers are out in force battling for pole position ready for the first day of racing on the Saturday. A good portion of visitors decide to visit the museum on the opening day, together with the numerous stalls set out selling their wares from the era with clothes for the gentlemen and the ladies, hats, shoes, scarves, ties, cravats, underwear, vintage luggage, restored juke boxes and arcade games (automatics as they are known), books, records and the list goes on and on…

juegos 3d Sir Stirling Moss was ensconced in one tent to sign his new book, for all who bought it, with a t-shirt hung up behind him with the immortal words (which I have used more than once in my lifetime) of “who do you think you are, Stirling Moss!” The man himself is 80 this year and still treating us to his own style of racing against some pretty stiff competition….I wonder if he will race Rowan Atkinson’s MK VII Jaguar again this year? I may have lead you to believe that Mr. Atkinson doesn’t race himself, which isn’t the case at all and no-one who attends Goodwood Revival on a regular basis can fail to see him cornering enthusiastically around the circuit giving the professionals a run for their money and indeed Mr. Atkinson revels in the fact that at this great event he is just that….a racing driver!

commercial property A first for Goodwood Revival this weekend….none other than the Vulcan flew in to demonstrate its formidable presence in the skies. A huge monster with a roar to match its gigantic proportions…I’ve never heard anything like it. It doesn’t instil the same emotion as the Lancaster for me but my goodness what a treat.

And now for one of my favourite races, the Lavant Cup, a 60 minute extravaganza of deep throated Aston Martins, Jaguars, Ferraris, Porsches and Lotus’ with Sir Stirling racing his own OSCA alongside Richard Attwood. Unfortunately Sir Stirling only managed a handful of laps and after entering the pit a couple of times reluctantly retired from the race with car trouble.

Penultimate race was the Glover Trophy followed by the last race of the day, the Fordwater Trophy, which by all accounts was indeed the most exciting race of the day and which was missed by a few when after a tiring full day, they decided to beat the crowds and leave early…I bet they don’t do that again!

Tell you what, there’s so much going on at Goodwood Revival I almost forgot to mention Prince Michael of Kent who dropped the flag to open one of the races…another sporting gentleman proud to be a part of this wonderful event.

Lots of tired but happy faces leaving the grounds today to rest and re-charge ready for the next day’s events… You can be published without charge. You can to republish this article in your website or blog. Please provide links Active.
